Date: February 15th, 2 pm - 5pm
Location: Redding School of the Arts, 955 Inspiration Way, Redding, CA 96003
Prerequisite: This class is intended as a second-level course. Students should know the basics of cold process soap making. At a minimum, the student should be familiar with procedures, equipment, and safety or have taken my Cold Process Soap Making 101 Class.
This soap making class is designed to teach students to make milk soap from scratch at home as a hobby. Have fun while learning completely hands-on. Students make cold process milk soap during the class session and get to take it home. Students also take home a soap mold, a bottle of sodium hydroxide and handouts, which include step-by-step instruction, resources, and recipes to help you continue at home.
Topics include: Special considerations and safety concerns for making milk soap and how to control effects through various soap-making techniques. We will cover three ways of making milk soap.
Bring to class: goggles or safety glasses, wear a long sleeve shirt, closed-toe shoes, and wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
Class Fee: $49 + Materials Fee: $40 = Total: $89. Includes raw materials to make soap and handouts. Availability is first-come, first-served. The class size is small to maximize personal attention to each student. Because of the caustic nature of sodium hydroxide, the class is for students aged 13+ years.
Registration: Payment in full is required at the time of registration and to reserve your spot. Payments accepted via cash, check, credit card, or PayPal.
Return Policy: Class is non-refundable. If you are unable to attend and you give 1-week notice you are welcome to reschedule to a later date class. No shows are non-refundable and not re-schedulable.
