Incense-cedar grows in the Cascade Mountains as far north as Mount Hood but more extensively in the Siskiyous and mountainous areas of southwest Oregon and California. The wood has been used to make aromatic cedar chests and #2 pencils. We steam-distilled Calocedrus decurrens (Incense-Cedar) essential oil from trees grown on our land at 2300 feet elevation. First we crush the fresh cedar tips then we slow distill them in a copper alembic still. The aroma that is released is bright and energetic - like rays of sunlight and crisp mountain streams. Click here to see how we do it. Incense-Cedar is very aromatic, it's refreshing with citrus, coniferous and woody notes.
