Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden (RSABG) has been studying, exhibiting and conserving California native plants for more than 85 years. It is the largest botanic garden dedicated to California native plants.
Spread across 86 acres in Claremont, California, the Garden is nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains located 35 miles east of Los Angeles.
The Garden exhibits about 2000 species of California plants. Volunteers lead tours of the Garden periodically.
The Garden is laid out in three areas. Indian Hill Mesa is a large flat-topped hill of native and wild species of native plants. Some of the most prominent species are wild lilacs and Manzanitas. The East Alluvial Gardens include the Desert Garden, the Coastal Dune and California Channel Islands collections. The northern 55 acres is home to the Plant Communities with displays of some of the most impressive specimens in the entire collection.
The Garden features conservation programs, herbarium, living collection, seed conservation, library, and education programs. The Garden’s major facilities include: Plant Science Center, Research and Horticulture Complex, Lee Lenz Horticulture Building, Lantz Outdoor Classroom, California Courtyard and California Natives Container Garden.
Mountain Girl Soap is proud to be featured in their Garden Gift Shop as they carry our varieties of California Native Plant Soaps.
