Fall Skincare Tips For Glowing Skin

With the changing season, our outfits and moods shift, we drink more warm beverages (hello Matcha Latte!) and break out the insta-pot, so too should the way we care for our skin. As fall approaches and the temperature drops your skincare routine needs a little switching up, too. What worked well for your skin in the summertime may not work as well in the fall. To help you out, we put together this list of fall skincare tips.

The transition from summer to fall means fewer hot days, so you sweat less and have less oily skin that is more dry. As skin becomes dry it will begin looking flaky and the barrier function may not work as well, this can result in a dull complexion.

During this season, look for gentle, non-striping cleansers, hydrating mists, and balancing facial oils. We want to deal with the changes happening in your skin due to the drop in temperature by preventing dry skin and breakouts while protecting the skin.

  • Use a mild, non-drying facial cleanser. The goal is to fight off bad bacteria that causes breakouts without stripping the skin of beneficial oils. A cleanser that is nourishing and gently exfoliating is a bonus. We recommend our Pumpkin Chai Soap rich in vitamin A, C and E, containing natural enzymes and AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids) that slough off dead skin and increase cell turn over.
  • Hydrate the skin with toner or hydrosol. Because of fewer hot days in the fall, your skin is sweating less, producing less oils and isn’t sealing in water like it was. If you’re battling acne as well, an acne-fighting toner is recommended like our Juniper Berry Toner. Also recommended is our Wild Carrot Seed Hydrosol to help balance both dry or oily skin plus antioxidants to protect skin from environmental stressors.
